"I would have liked to been able to give him the kinds of songs that he wanted, like 'Masters of War', Hard Rain', 'Gates of Eden', but those kinds of songs were written under different circumstances, and circumstances never repeat themselves. Not exactly. I couldn't get to those kinds of songs for him or anyone else. To do it, you've got to have power and dominion over the spirits. I had done it once, and once was enough. Someone would come along eventually who would have it again - someone who could see into things, the truth of things - not metaphorically either - but really see, like seeing into metal and making it melt, see it for what it was and reveal it for what it was with hard words and vicious insight." (Dylan, 2004, p218, 'Chronicles')

Chris is available to play ANYWHERE in the UK (where the venue provides a piano). His thought-provoking material covers topics from student debt to climate change, ideal for any benefit concerts etc.

Nice start to 2006 - open mic set at Bas's, Liverpool, went pretty well. Opened up with 'Forced Introduction' (more story than song), then the song telling the truth about Liverpool 'The Culture of Capital', followed by 'Mission', a cover of 'Fix You' by Coldplay and then a complete balls up of the latest composition 'Paying for the Privilege' which was only written just over a week ago so it was expected!
Chris came back on to round off the night with a cover of Coldplay's 'The Scientist' and finished with 'The Path of Contemplation'. He will be back again there next Thursday between 10pm and 12.

Great to see Ste back performing with the full band (SUBCON) at Bas's last Thursday, spur of the moment show. Back again this Thursday to perform 4 solo songs, all his own compositions.

Thursday 9th Feb saw Stephen start his now regular set at Bas's with 'Forced Introduction' followed by probably his most popular yet depressing compostion 'The Culture of Capital'. He then successfully muddled through 'Paying For The Privilege' and one he hasn't played before - 'Check Mate' (which was dedicated to the two girls in the audience who it was written about).
He finished with the cover of Coldplay's 'Fix You' accompanied by Alan (one of the hosts of the open mic night) on electric guitar.
A smaller crowd this week but a more accomplished peformance made it a better night than last week, at least for Stephen.
