BIO

With the band members hailing from around the North West and North Wales regions, it was in Manchester that Earthona formed in late 2006. The musical chemistry was evident from the start and since then the band has progressed quickly. They played their first gig in April 2007, followed by a string of further performances for which they received much positive response, and are steadily building up a following.

Their music can be broadly described as rock with a progressive element, and is based on skilled songwriting, an ear for a decent melody, dynamic instrumental parts, and inspirational lyrics. Their unique song structures free up the space for their big and positive energy, and each instrument plays a vital and unique role in creating their overall sound.

The band name is based upon the character ?Urthona? from the writings of William Blake, where it represents creativity and imagination. With this in mind, alongside their own innovations, their songs show a connection to the more visionary artists, songwriters and bands of the past, especially those of the 60s and 70s.
