I went to see The Vincent Valmera Show in the Dublin Castle on Tuesday 30th of August and they absolutely rocked the place. It was really hard to hear that it was only their 5th ever gig! The timing was perfect, and the leadguitar and rythm guitar players cooperated very nicely giving the music an edge to it that you rarely hear with so "young" a band. The leadsinger really was in his own fantastically arrogant league, while still able to keep an ironic distance to the material. The inspiration from Brian Ferry was quite evident, and how the world of rock music is longing for original acts by people who are not afraid to give you a stage performance that says: Everyone can have their own opinion, but I'm doing it like this and you'd bloody well like it, 'cause I'm confident enough to know that my act is miles above everything you will ever be able to do! It was completely by coincidence that I stumbled upon this Rock'n'Roll gem, but I will be monitoring the progress of these guys, 'cause they really know how to pull it off! Now, the future has yet to see whether Peach is able to sing a rock ballad in the most heartbroken way. If The Vincent Valmera Show can do this, which I remain confident that they can, they're bound for the stars. Cheers
