Hot on the heels of some guy called Robbie re-joining Take That we hear that Pulp are to reform for a series of dates in 2011.
And there are currently several 80s bands touring, from Spandau Ballet to Depeche Mode and ABC. Blur have played live dates, and a few years ago there was probably the ultimate reunion concert - Led Zeppelin at the 02 Arena.
So is this trend simply a case of crude commercialism? Take That did sell quite a few concert tickets apparently. Or does it show a lack of originality among artists who prefer to live on their past reputation rather than produce new material?
What do you think?
And which bands from the past would you like to see touring just one more time?
very mixed feelings about the pulp reunion, was a fan of them circa brit-pop era and still followed them after their pop sheen faded, but the blur reunion in hide park was so disapointing for me.
still wishing oasis would reform tho, can't they just get over it??
