It's Christmas!!! (Nearly)

Had justice been done last night and Cher Lloyd had been booted off The X Factor instead of the lovely Paije Richardson this would have been a celebratory editorial in the style of “ding dong, the witch is dead.” However, as she’s still in there, this is no such thing. In fact, it’s going to be about what has consumed my whole weekend... well, since last Thursday... Christmas!

I was in Glasswerk Towers on my own on Thursday morning and was flicking between songs on Spotify when I decided the best thing to put on to wake me up would be Christmas songs. I had some Wham and some Mariah Carey... it was ace.

Saturday saw me out shopping for Christmas presents and yesterday I wrapped them, whilst bopping along to Peter Andre’s Xmas Extravaganza Top 50 Countdown (thanks for that 4Music!) Brilliant. I’ve never felt so organised and so pleased with myself all at once. I mean, I still have a few more gifts to get, but not many.

Also, on the way to work today I saw a house with all their Christmas decorations up. I think that’s a little step too far as, after all it is only the 22nd November. The Christmas tree in our house isn’t going up until 3rd December (*cough*my birthday*cough*) and that’s plenty early enough.

I love Christmas, I love giving people presents that I’ve spent ages thinking about for them, I love all the twinkly, pretty lights and I love the electric feeling of excitement you can’t help but get as it edges ever closer.

Anyway, to take your mind off the upcoming festive period we have loads of good stuff on the site this week. We have interviews with Travie McCoy, Dinosaur Pile Up, Catherine Smyth and Sunday Girl. We also have new videos from John and Jehn, Charlotte Church and some live footage from Awolnation. As if all that wasn’t enough Amy Can Flyy, To The Bones, Ruarri Joseph and Matt Berry are all on tour!
