Axl Rose's Computer Says No

Last night Axl Rose posted his first tweet since 20th May. It stated that “All upcoming Guns N' Roses dates are officially cancelled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds.” Rumour has it Axl’s account has been hacked but with this temperamental front man, who knows? Is this his way of letting everyone, fans and promoters alike, that he has decided against the planned shows?

With little under two weeks until Guns N’ Roses scheduled headline slots at Leeds and Reading Festivals it’s a little short notice don’t you think? Or is it all a big publicity stunt and they will show up at the festivals after all?

I’m not normally one to go in for conspiracy theories but when it comes to Mr Rose you can’t help but think all is not as it seems. I can’t help but be cynical in these situations and wonder what actually lies beneath.
Maybe it is a hacker that is now sitting back and revelling in the chaos they have caused and enjoying every piece of nonsense the overactive rumour mill that is churned out or maybe not. Maybe this is Festival Republic’s chance to step up and find someone spectacular to replace GNR in the headline slot, but who will stack up against Arcade Fire and Blink 182?

I guess all we can do now is sit back and wait and watch the whole spectacle unfold before us.

However, in the mean time on the site this week we have interviews with Leftfield, Stagecoach and The Hoosiers. We have new videos from Alex Gaudino, The Brute Chorus and The Lines. There are also exciting competitions to win Rolling Stones goodies, tickets to LED Festival and Mark Ronson Limited Edition Vinyl. As if all this wasn’t enough The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, The Brute Chorus, Elliot Minor and Rachael Sage are all on tour! What are you waiting for?

Very strange one. I immediately though Publicity Stunt. But do Guns N Roses really need the publicity? As nothing has been confirmed as of yet, i think that its most likely the result of Axl's account being hacked.

Especially as New guitarist Dj Ashba made no reference to the cancellation when tweeting a few hours later.

Instead he wrote: "Still in rapid city Buying guns with Axl, just bought me a smith & w. 44 snub nose!! America F%#k yeah!"
