Dead Confederate return to the UK with a brand new, double A-side single, Run From The Gun and Quiet Kid, released 28th February to coincide with a 7 date UK tour with The Whigs.
Run From The Gun and Quiet Kid perhaps best sums up where Dead Confederate are now. Quiet Kid is everything we’ve come to expect of Dead Confederate, frantic distortion, howling, psyche-tinged guitars and Hardy Morris’ searing vocals.
Run From The Gun however shows another side to the band that emerged from their second album, Sugar, released last September through Kartel. Gone are the distortion pedals and in come acoustic guitars, Mellotron and vocal harmonies blending into biting commentary on war.
“That developed from my thinking about our treatment, or mistreatment, of Native Americans. I’m kind of a history buff, and a lot of history makes you angry,” lead singer Hardy Morris said. “It occurred to me that the easy answer would be to go back to all times in history and tell people to run from the gun.”
