Steven Ansell and Laura-Mary Carter are pleased to announce the release of new single “Heartsink” on August 16th.Taken from their brilliant new album ‘Fire Like This’, “Heartsink” is a trademark BRS track and live favourite.

The duo have been touring heavily since the release of their sophomore album back in Spring and are set to stop off in over 50 European cities before the year is up, as well as a stint of Summer festivals on UK shores.

The track “Heartsink” is a prime example of the DIY spirit that runs throughout the album. Recorded on analogue at Liverpool studio, The Motor Museum, the tracks frantic harmonies and scorching guitars creates a perfect rock song as Steven explains:

"We took the energy and simplicity of that four to the floor beat and
layered it with a guitar sound as aggressive and industrial as possible. We
never want to make anything too easy to get into, it'd be boring. It's a pop
song that we tried to destroy from the inside out basically”

The single comes backed with the track “Into The Night”, a cover from an episode of one of the duos biggest influences; “Twin Peaks”. Originally recorded for a session on Zane Lowe, the reaction to the cover was so positive that making it a b-side made perfect sense!.

The band will play the below UK festival dates and will also play two headline dates this Autumn in London & Manchester:

Upcoming live dates –

24 July- Sheffield, Tramlines Festival // DiS Outdoor Stage
25 July- Oxfordshire, Truck Festival
27 August- Reading, Festival Republic Stage 8pm
29 August- Leeds, Festival Republic Stage 8pm
6 October- Manchester, Club Academy
7 October- London, Electric Ballroom
