October 25th 2010 sees the release of Canterbury’s new single, “Calm Down”. It will be the lead single from their forthcoming E.P entitled “Twelve Months”, the follow up to the bands 2009 debut album, “Thank You”. Just like “Thank You”, “Twelve Months” was produced by Peter Miles.
The overall sound of the record is modern and exciting, and holds onto what so many bands are lacking, a distinctly British edge. “Calm Down” has already been picked up by Radio 1 and was recently played on the Zane Lowe show as his ‘Reaction Record’ as well as a handful of plays on Fearne Cotton's show, receiving very positive feedback from the shows listeners.
Canterbury received critical acclaim for their debut album, which was released for free from their website ([link]) in October 09. To date over 20,000 copies of the album have been downloaded and the number continues to rise.
In support of the release of the new single and to gear up for the release of the E.P, Canterbury will be heading out on a headlining tour of the UK and Ireland in October of this year (dates below). Having already toured with bands such as Billy Talent, You Me At Six, Enter Shikari and Twin Atlantic, they are no strangers to the live circuit.
The band was also recently confirmed alongside The Blackout and Set Your Goals supporting You Me At Six on their UK tour in December.
