Kings Of Leon Are Shit (On)

My horrific fear of birds, particularly pigeons, waned slightly this weekend on hearing the news that Jared Followill was pooed on, on stage. Kings of Leon abandoned their gig in St Louis just three songs in after the bassist was hit in the face and mouth by the bird’s droppings.

Their publicist Amy Mendelsohn was reported as saying: "Jared was hit several times during the first two songs. On the third song, when he was hit in the cheek and some of it landed near his mouth, they couldn't deal (with it) any longer.” Well, if that was the case why didn’t he move? If the bird was in the rafters I’m sure it wasn’t aiming specifically for him. It was just doing what birds do. Ok, it’s gross and I’d cry if I got hit by bird poo especially if it got me on the face but if he’d left the stage to clean himself up and moved out of the pigeon’s line of fire the gig could have easily continued. Prima donna behaviour at work there, I think!

The band is currently on tour to promote their fourth album, Only By The Night. That pigeon said more about the album then I could ever put into words. High five Mr. Pigeon, I agree.

The only good thing to come from this diva-esque behaviour is that the fans at the show are to be offered refunds. Let’s hope they use the cash to find some better music to listen to.

Anyway, we have nothing but good music on our site and this week we have interviews with Dr Huxtable, Captain Sensible and Carosel. We have new videos from Kele, The Heebie Jeebies and Mumford and Sons with Laura Marling. We also have competitions to win tickets to Milk Festival and limited edition Mark Ronson vinyl. If all that wasn’t enough Roach ford, Cattle Decapitation and Rachael Sage are all on tour.

People just say that's it lucky to make the victim feel better. The title of this, LOL!

I enjoy the notion that this pigeon actually was aiming specifically for him , and is still following him now.

Pigeons are smart. And clearly have good taste in music too.
