"We are not taking this lying down. We have something to say and we are saying it. We dispute the plan laid out for us by other people.
You are allowed to enjoy music for what it is.
Our music is what we know and grew up with.
It is a part of our lives. Some of our lives have been long and some have been short. Our music is both remembrances of things past and our imaginings into the future.
We will not grow old as others grow old, we will simply grow.
Reality leaves a lot to the imagination; what we have done is turn imagination into reality"

Originally brought together in the Art Therapy room in Parkhurst where they conceived their first joint work, the quaintly titled "KAKPRO-TEST", The Cursors have continued to put voice to the unspeakable.
Their prior history is murky; it is known that Lalor and Bailey were sent back from Botany Bay judged to be way too unsavoury even for Cell Block H. The memory sticks containing information about Graves & Cooper's previous form appear to be missing, but as soon as they turn up behind some train seat the details will be made public.
Though tagged and under the strict supervision of parole officers, The Cursors are currently operating from a half-way house in Willesden. They should be approached with caution and at the first sign of unpleasantness it is advisable to notify your nearest Armed Response Unit.

"Songs like 'Long Goodbyes' bring me back again. The song invites the bleakness in, then pours it out again, filtered in fight and colour.
The power and pain is still there, but it feels more bearable, something transformed. It is knuckle straining against skin, a whitened face in a pool of light. It takes all that emotion, gripped so tightly, and casts it into the sky. All that is grit and grain becomes soft earth once more, scattering gently as it falls. Line by line, the song has ground it down, until the emotion itself is grounded: safe now, earthed, returned to loam. Earth to earth, and ashes on my fingers no more.
A song to hold to yourself, to sing to the north-east wind until the dust is out of your eyes." (fabulist.org)

Just when it seemed like rock had died a bland post-punk-emo-indie death, the dynamic quintet Pauper Kings enter with a refreshingly energetic and upbeat contribution to British music. The band was formed when vocalist Dave Blomiley and drummer Olly Brown realised there was a gap in the rock scene that urgently needed to be filled with Blomiley’s charismatically unique voice and Brown’s incredible flair for detail. As their music evolved into the rambunctious rock that characterises the band, in 2006 guitarist Chris Buckley was ushered in with electrifying solos and inventive riffs, shortly followed by jazz-rooted Sam Norman’s funky but solid bass lines. The final addition to the group, Woody, completed the line-up with his metal-influenced guitar style, bringing a new dimension to the band’s increasingly popular sound. Punchy, melodic and ever-distinctive, Pauper Kings are currently playing the London circuit and recording their first album.
