The Woodentops [link]
The Woodentops are a British band who originally formed in 1983 with an initial line up of Rolo McGinty (vocals, guitar), Simon Mawby (guitar), Alice Thompson (keyboards), Frank DeFreitas (bass guitar), and Paul Hookham (drums).
The band achieved success during the 80's with David Bowie claiming their 1986 album, Giant, to be the best album of that year.
However after a split in 1989 and a few line up changes later the band are back. With two new musicians, Aine O'keeffe and Paul Ashby, on board The Woodentops are set to bring their high energy and individual performance back to life and once again reclaim their title as being the experimental band that people fell in love with.

“… psych-pop soundscapes of a billowing expansiveness that recalls MBV, Spiritualized and Mercury Rev at their most abundant … if you’re looking for the album to soundtrack your spring and summer escapism, Ahead of the Rain is it.” Sunday Times, 'Breaking Act'
“… lusciously woozy affair, recalling the hazy, narcotic ballads of US dream-popsters Galaxie 500…potent stuff…” Q
" MBV - meets - Mercury Rev... gorgeous..." Uncut
“…full of such glimmering, sun-kissed guitar pop that it’ll banish the blues in an instant.” NME

Only within their first year of conception, things have been moving fast for Essex 4-piece I Dream In Colour. Fronted by singer/ songwriter Richard Judge; the band play stadium sized anthems about love and life with a vocal so captivating it rivals some of the true greats.
