Blondie Announce Three Irish Dates

Seventies new-wave punk rockers Blondie have announced three Irish dates this summer. Debbie Harry and co. will play the Marquee Cork, Belfast's Nugent Hall and Vicar St., Dublin.

The Irish dates follow a string of concert dates and festival appearances (including Rockness and Isle Of Wight) across the UK during June.

The Vicar St. Show will take place on June 22nd, with tickets starting at €49.20, which go on sale this Friday (April 16th) at 9am. On June 23rd, the band will travel to Belfast and then will be play at The Marquee Cork on June 24th.

The iconic band have been hard at work on their first album in six years, entitled 'Panic Of Girls'. "We have been in the studio for a long time now so we are excited to get out on the road and debut the new songs live for our fans,” says Debbie Harry.

Amongst Blondie's most popular hits have been 'Call Me', 'One Way Or Another', 'Maria' and 'Heart Of Glass', selling over 40 million records worldwide.

In other Blondie news, the album artwork for 'Panic Of Girls' has just been released on Blondie.net. The creative image was designed by Dutch artist Chris Berens who has also blogged that "all the mixes are done… we have a couple of very cool guest artistes, we are pushing for a 15-16 track record… there are three, maybe four cover songs… theres one track in French and Two in Spanish… as for the English language remaining tracks most of the lyrics are by Debbie… i must say i am knocked out by the lyrics alone… i think that this record will help people understand that one can write rock lyrics that go further into the realm of poetry and literature, that just dont make simple statements".
