Pegasus Bridge Announce Debut Album

From a sleepy suburb in Manchester comes a 4-piece that have steadily been making a name for themselves up and down the country. Having recorded their debut single with in-demand producer Jon Mitchell (Kids in Glass Houses, You Me at Six), the buzz surrounding the band reached such a level that they began to pick up regular airplay on BBC stations up and down the country. With this support, the band captured a wider audience after just one single release in "Yoko"!

Since then the band’s continuing rise has become undeniable - they have gained strong Radio One support from Huw Stephens, Zane Lowe, Vernon Kay, and Lauren Laverne. The band have built up a solid live following, with their own headline shows as well as supporting the likes of General Fiasco, Futures and We Are The Ocean and are now gearing up to release “While We’re Young” on LAB Records (Not Advised, Portia Conn, Just Surrender) in November 2010.

The record contains the kind of huge melodies and nagging hooks that you’d expect from a band that received an ecstatic reception when they opened Radio One’s Big Weekend. From raucous and irresistible lead single “Ribena”, to the pop nous of the aforementioned “Yoko”, through to the dramatic closer “Paris”, the record rarely gives up its sense of youthful exuberance. Taking the line between the compulsive anthems of Jimmy Eat World, the fizzing fervour of The Wombats, the driving power pop/ punk of You Me At Six and the smart, syncopated indie-rock of the last few years, the band are a fresh reminder of the British talent out there.

This 7-track debut mini-album is the first full release for a band tipped by many to break across UK and beyond over the next year. With sharp productive, tight vocals and choruses that most other bands would kill for, Pegasus Bridge are a band to reinstate faith amongst the young and older music fans alike. Expect to hear them playing on a stereo near you in the very near future.
