The Bays Tour
The Bays, the UK’s legendary leaders in the field of improvised live electronica, are following up the success of their Blue Pavilion tent at Bestival 2006 by curating and headlining a two week tour in early spring 2007, promoting the best in Electronic / Classical / Acoustic music from the UK taking in venues from Brighton to Manchester. The tour kicks off at The Zodiac in Oxford on the 31st of March and runs until April 8th.

Performances will feature live acts such as John Metcalfe, Digitonal and The Bays. It will also include the DJ talents of Big Chill resident AJ. Both John Metcalfe and Digitonal will be performing new material from their forthcoming releases.

There will be two classic all dayers on Sunday April 1st at London’s KOKO and on the 8th in Brighton at Audio. These two Sundays will come closest to evoking the spirit of the Bestival tent, including several floors of live and DJ based music running throughout the day. Among the many live acts confirmed for these two special shows are Tom Middleton’s live project AMBA, Max Richter, Jon Hopkins, John Metcalfe and Digitonal. DJs confirmed so far include Mixmaster Morris, AJ, Nick Luscombe, Ben Eshmade and Big Chill founder Pete Lawrence. Hosts and organisers the Bays themselves will be playing live, as well as providing turntable sets from their own deck maestros Jimpster and Palmskin.

The Bays intend to make this an annual touring extravaganza that will focus on the spirit and energy of performance, whether live or DJ based, which continues to be at the centre of the their own unique approach to making music.

1st April – Koko, London
4th April – Trinity, Bristol
5th April – Phoenix, Exeter
6th April – The Sage, Gateshead
