Kyte Announce New 2008 Tour Dates

Leicester's Kyte have announced that they will be playing 23 dates across the UK over the next few months.

The live shows will see them play with celebrated 20-year old Icelandic indie composer Ólafur Arnalds at London's Monto Water Rats on the 14 February, as well as a tour in April with the acclaimed Leeds band iLiKETRAiNS, which will include a date at London's Bush Hall. The live shows will support the release of their stunningly beautiful and ambitious self-titled debut album, released on the 18 February 2008 through KIDS Records. Tipped by the NME and Channel 4 Music as being one of the bands to watch in 2008, NME have recently lauded Kyte as having "massive soundscapes, like Maps fronting My Bloody Valentine".

With an average age of only 20, Kyte have crafted a collection of epic pop songs with a mastery beyond their years. Recalling the glacial soundscapes of Sigur Rós, the bombast of Mew and the melodic sensibility of Death Cab For Cutie, Kyte's songs will resonate with all fans of beautiful and ambitious pop music.

Despite having only one previous release to their name - a 7" release of 'Planet' on Sonic Cathedral - Kyte have already captured many hearts. Maps' remix of b-side 'Secular Ventures' gained widespread plaudits in the indie and dance press alike, and in the US their track 'Boundaries' was used on a nationally aired advert for The Sopranos on HBO. The electronic tinge to their music (recalling Four Tet or Boards of Canada) has led to supports with The Whip and Maps, as well as winning the acclaim of Ulrich Schnauss.

"Unashamedly epic and unrelentingly beautiful" - NME

"From hushed semi-electronica to an all-out barrage of ecclesiastical noise...It's positively hymnal" - the Guardian

"They're the stuff of dream-pop dreams, blessed with a compellingly insular intensity...they're looking thoroughly poised to soar." - The Fly
