During Friday’s live web chat with MySpace, the Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne revealed that he would like either superstar actor Denzel Washington or music guru Prince to play him in a movie about his life. Despite his preference, he also revealed that Hollywood A-lister, Johnny Depp had been lined up to take the role until film plans were cancelled after Ozzy broke his neck in his now infamous quad bike crash in 2003.
“Johnny Depp is much better looking than me, but he was all set to be me in the film. Then I went and broke my neck so it all got canned. I am not sure if the film will ever get made now, but if it does I would quite like an unknown, Brummie have a go at the lead”.
Answering questions from fans live on the MySpace website, Ozzy also revealed he has never heard of the hit TV show Glee. When asked if he was a fan of the show he responded with “What does Glee mean? I have never heard of it before…when is it on?”
Ozzy also announced the winner of the MySpace competition that gave unsigned bands the chance to open for him at this summer’s iTunes Festival. The Black Spiders will be joining Ozzy on stage on 3rd July at the Roundhouse in Camden, London. The iTunes Festival will feature performances from 62 artists over 31 consecutive nights in July.
