We Are Scientists Take CTRL

The irresistibly off-the-wall New York rockers, We Are Scientists, will be bringing their unique take on life, music and the universe to Topman CTRL in August. They are also set to curate and perform at CTRL Live - along with friend and recent collaborator Andy Burrows’ new band I Am Arrows - which will be heading to the seaside to serve up a large stick of Rock at Brighton’s Audio on Friday 27th August.

The American duo are as well known for their quirky views and lightening sharp wit as the indie rock that has won them an army of fans across the world and Chris and Keith will bring be bringing their brand of Brain Thrust Mastery to [link] throughout August.

Tickets for the one-off, intimate gig in Brighton have gone like the proverbial hot cakes, but We Are Scientists’ devotees can still win their way in at [link]. That aside, the boys are nothing if not unpredictable, so Brighton may well be in for more W.A.S shaped treats…..!

In preparation for their Topman CTRL take-over, we’ve included a brief We Are Scientists history! Keith plays guitar and sings, but not to be outdone, Chris plays bass guitar and handles backing vocals. Chris grew up in Utah, yet to this day is not Mormon. Keith grew up in Miami, the setting for Scarface and TV’s Dexter, and Chris has two cats!

In case anyone should wonder how ex Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows became involved, look no further…..the twosome turned into a threesome to record recent W.A.S album Barbara in London, Los Angeles, & NYC. This geographical diversity could be seen as a metaphor for how disparate the three musicians are as people. Chris likes chicken, Andy likes lamb, while Keith is a vegetarian. All three appreciate beer, but sometimes, when drinking together at a pub, they order different brands. (That is rare, though).
