The Heavy And Metronomy Play Sailor Jerry's Shows

Sailor Jerry continues to pack a punch with its live music program, today announcing two more events for September. Sailor Jerry Presents... The Heavy will be hitting London’s Old Blue Last on Wednesday 29th September immediately followed by Sailor Jerry Presents… Metronomy at Brighton’s Concorde 2 on Thursday 30th September.

The Heavy, who have achieved fame on both sides of the Atlantic, will perform a set of tracks from their critically acclaimed albums Great Vengeance and Furious Fire and The House That Dirt Built. On form following a massive US tour, including an unprecedented encore performance on the Late Show with David Letterman, the band is set to be a sure hit with the 200 punters lucky enough to score a ticket.

Electro outfit, Metronomy will return to the town where they performed their first live gig back in 1999. Having supported acts such as Bloc Party, Klaxons and Justice across the UK and Europe, the four piece look forward to taking centre stage once again.

Tickets will be free and available at [link] from Monday 6th September at 10am

Sailor Jerry Presents... is a series of free and intimate shows created for music lovers looking for something different. Small audiences are invited to take in the colourful life of Norman Collins, the inspiration behind Sailor Jerry Spiced and the father of old-school tattooing. Screenings of Hori Smoku, a short film about Norman Collins' life, will be just one reason not to miss out.

Encompassing the spirit of Norman Collins, Sailor Jerry Spiced, the much loved Caribbean Rum blended with natural spices, has stirred up a number of classic serves including Jerry & ginger and Jerry & cola which will be on offer throughout the night alongside some spiced specials - for those with a real taste for life.

Sailor Jerry has a long standing association with music both here in the UK and in the US where independent bands regularly take to the stage in the Sailor Jerry Store in Philadelphia. Playing a big part at some of the UK’s best events including most recently the Big Chill, Sailor Jerry Presents... in 2010 saw some highly acclaimed acts perform including Bombay Bicycle Club, Mystery Jets and We Are Scientists. The attitude of Norman Collins continues to shine through at each event where pioneering bands that are authentic in style, with a story to tell, entertain and inspire audiences across the country.

Sailor Jerry Presents... has stopped off this year in London, Glasgow, Manchester, Brighton and Edinburgh. Those wanting to find out more should visit the Sailor Jerry website [link]
