Underoath Sign To Roadrunner

Roadrunner Records are proud to announce the signing of the double-Grammy-nominated, Tampa-based rockers, UNDEROATH for the world, ex-US & Canada.

The sextet’s last two releases debuted at No.2 and No.8 on the Billboard album chart in the US, with their forthcoming seventh studio album, ‘Ø (Disambiguation),’ expected to deliver a new high watermark for UNDEROATH. The album is set for an 8th November release.

On this album cycle, UNDEROATH also welcome new drummer Daniel Davison (ex-Norma Jean) to the ranks, alongside Spencer Chamberlain (vocals), Grant Brandell (bass), Tim McTague and James Smith (guitars) and Chris Dudley (keyboards).

‘Ø (Disambiguation)’ was produced by the band’s longtime producer, Matt Goldman and Jeremy SH Griffith. Guitarist Tim was enthused by this, but stated “We weren’t looking to go down the same road. Our last couple of records were super-produced and edited. Matt and Jeremy are both vibe oriented and helped us get where we needed to go.” He continues: “When we felt the record taking shape, we sat with it for awhile. We looked at the songs and our past releases and compared the production. This record feels more natural because it’s a lot more sequential whereas our last record was more piece by piece. It’s a lot closer to our live experience rather than a flawless, computerized project.”

‘Ø (Disambiguation)’ lives up to its meaning. It’s an album that provides clarity about a band that has experienced its share of misinterpretation. “We think it’s our best record by far,” says frontman Spencer Chamberlain. “I’d say to fans that you may have heard UNDEROATH, but you’ve never heard UNDEROATH like this. There isn’t a single part on this record that we would change. When we play it live it will show that UNDEROATH is and always has been the sum of its parts. I couldn’t be more proud of this record and happier with where we are as a band.”
