Bon Jovi To Headline Hard Rock Calling 2011

Hard Rock International and Live Nation announced today that the Grammy® Award-winning, all-American rock band BON JOVI are confirmed to headline HARD ROCK CALLING on Saturday 25 June in London’s Hyde Park. Globally, the band has sold 120 million albums and performed more than 2,600 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans.

“2011 marks Hard Rock’s 40th anniversary and there is no better way to celebrate than with Bon Jovi at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park,” said Hamish Dodds, president and CEO, Hard Rock International. “Not only has Bon Jovi been one of the world’s most successful and beloved bands, but they have also been a friend of the Hard Rock brand for many years.”

Live Nation’s Toby Leighton-Pope commented, ‘’There is nothing quite like being at a high octane BON JOVI concert in the summer and their UK fans are in for a night to remember on June 25.’’

Next week, BON JOVI will pick up the ‘Global Icon’ Award at MTV’s European Music Awards in Madrid on November 7. They will also perform live and exclusively on UK Television with an appearance on X Factor this coming Sunday ITV at 6pm.

Universal Music will simultaneously release a Greatest Hits Album. The BON JOVI – GREATEST HITS collection that will transport their fans back in time through the band’s worldwide monster hits, and offer a bridge to the future with the debut of four brand new tracks – “What Do You Got?” “The More Things Change,” “No Apologies,” and “This Is Love,This Is Life.” These new songs were written and recorded specifically for inclusion on the album. The compilation is chock full of Bon Jovi’s biggest chart-toppers including “Livin’ On A Prayer,” “Wanted Dead or Alive,” “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” and more.

Now in its sixth consecutive year, Hard Rock Calling has fully established itself as one of the UK’s premier outdoor music events. BON JOVI’s headline appearance at Hard Rock Calling next summer joins a long line of rock and roll greats that have taken to the stage at this iconic location. Past acts have included Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, The Who, Pearl Jam, Peter Gabriel, Bruce Springsteen, The Killers and The Police, who created what is now identified as the “must see” concert event on the UK festival circuit.

Hard Rock Calling, produced by Live Nation and presented by Hard Rock International, is a unique and historic musical event with a main stage, second stage and many surprises in store for fans of all ages. In addition to renowned bands and an on-site Hard Rock Cafe, the festival will include a variety of attractions to be announced at a later date.
