Josh Weller Announces Bush Hall Date

From Josh Weller's beginnings in 2008 as a pop-troubadour with just an acoustic guitar and the constant touring with the likes of The Noisettes, The Maccabees and Paloma Faith, to the release of his sold out 'Push E.P' in 2009, the 23 year old has become something of a cult pop-star.

His big chorused pop music, with grooving drumbeats, quirky hooks and wryly observational lyrics, is carried by a voice that marries the softness of Chet Baker and the fire of a young Elvis Costello. Josh Weller casts a hawks eye on society and love, concluding that it's 'pretty damn weird'.

Having studied music at university but being kicked out for 'touring too much', Josh Weller has come from a London-music scene 'playing with everyone but never really being part of any scene.'

His songs play like the idiosyncrasies, quirks and mannerisms of a script by Woody Allen. It's catchy and impassioned, it grooves like hip hop, but it's written by Josh Weller; abound with exuberant narratives, witty one liners and a stark observation about his inner-neuroses on love and life. What comes out is simply Pop with great lyrics.

Currently working on his first album with Renaud Letang (Feist, Manu Chao) Josh plays almost everything on the recordings himself and is at the beginning of a hugely promising career. Josh Weller will be coming to London this December:

Thursday 2nd December London Bush Hall 0844 811 0051

Tickets are £8 and are onsale Friday 15th October at 9am
