We waited and we waited and we waited some more and then finally last night the UK Sonisphere line-up was announced! Quite why it took so long to get round to this news is anyone’s guess, but having a look at what is in store the wait was well worth it!
Sonisphere UK will take place in Knebworth from Friday July 6th to Sunday July 8th. The Friday will have Kiss as the main headline band bringing “Rock N Roll” to us once again.
The Saturday is headlined by Queen. Hardly a poor choice of headline band, but we’ll see if their new front man can prove himself to the metal crowd! Saturday will also include Tim Minchin, The Darkness, Fields of the Nephilim, Katatonia, Evanescence and Lacuna Coil.
Sunday will be headlined by Faith No More. Throughout sunday you can also see the likes of Incubus, Marilyn Manson, Mastadon, Cypress Hill and Andrew W.K.
And this is just the beginning – There are many more acts yet to be announced, so expect a lot more big names and a few more up and coming names to head our way over the next few months.
Sonisphere had its debut in the UK back in 2009 and looked set to be the next big major Rock and Metal festival. But then last year’s line up had us convinced they had thrown in that towel and were content to be a Rock-Emo festival for teenagers even despite have the Big Four open it.
This year we are back in business and with the likes of Kiss and Faith No more on the bill we are sure to get those horns in the air a week in advance of attending!

A deposit scheme will be launched at the same time for those who want to spread the cost of their ticket. A deposit of £50 will secure a weekend ticket, with the balance due anytime before 30th April 2011.
