Die Antwoord story started in 2009, when the Capetown trio: lead MC Ninja, singer-rapper-sexpot Yo-Landi Vi$$er and DJ Hi-Tek channelled their inner Zef energy to create a brand new style of music called Zef Rap-Rave.
The buzz started to build via the internet and rampant word-of-mouth and by the time 2009 became 2010 this mysterious band was becoming a viral phenomenon. With over 5 million views for ‘Enter The Ninja’ on YT and rising, Die Antwoord will be releasing a 5-track digital EP entitled ‘5’ on September 13th through Interscope Records, which will feature a DJ Fishsticks remix of ‘Enter The Ninja’ and four new songs. A full length album (‘$O$’) will follow at the end of the year.
Die Antwoord’s high-impact live show at Coachella earlier this year proved they were the band you should keep a watchful eye on and subsequently they landed an opening slot for M.I.A in New York and LA. Die Antwoord will be bringing their energy to Europe this summer to play some live dates, which includes the LED festival in Victoria Park on the 28th August.
