PopSex028 will take the form of a club night in Sunderland on 21st August at The Independent with live music from Sky Larkin, Dutch Uncles and France & the Habsburgs.
Sunderland has a small and incredibly fertile music scene but lacks the live infrastructure of many other bigger towns. It’s the sort of place where if you want something done, then you do it yourself, and so Frankie & The Heartstrings are excited to bring some of their favourite bands to their hometown for a special night of music and mayhem.

Headlining the night with their addictive off-kilter indie are Leeds trio Sky Larkin who release their excellent second album Kaleide on Wichita Recordings on 9th August, preceded by single Still Windmills on 2nd August. [link]
Manchester’s Dutch Uncles are a delightfully abrasive and spiky art-indie quintet full of wit and wire. Their beguiling, recently released World Cup song was the only 4 minutes worth hearing in relation to the event this time round. [link]
France & the Habsburgs are a Sunderland based troupe who’s ‘Photographic Heart’ was recently released as part of a Fierce Panda’s Licensed To Drill EP compilation. [link]
