Fine Young Firecrackers formed in September 2009 from the ashes of previous successful Liverpool bands. Disillusioned with the music they were making at the time and the lack of diversity in Liverpool bands, FYF are now concentrating on establishing themselves as stalwarts in the UK pop punk scene.
The 5 piece (Conor O'hare – drums, Craig Mcveigh – guitar, Adam Campbell – vocals, Harry Ives - bass and Carl Birtles – guitar) strive to create melodic, accessible pop punk filled with hooks, heartfelt lyrics and anthemic choruses.
Firm favourites in the Liverpool scene, FYF have more notches on their bedposts than most bands have after a whole lifetime of gigging. Their first recording session was at the pop punk Mecca of Stakeout Studies with producer Jason Wilcock (You Me At Six, We Are The Ocean) working on debut single ‘Neon’. Straight off the back of the session FYF hit the road on a self organised UK tour and gained new fans, fully embracing the DIY ethic.
The band have already caught the attention of the UK press, being featured as Local Heroes in Kerrang! Magazine and the Found! Section of Ourzone Magazine, as well as on scores of internet blogs and e-zines.
The winners of an Atticus competition to support We Are The Ocean, Mayday Parade and Madina Lake, FYF are no strangers to playing with established acts and proved they could cut it with the best at the 2010 Slam Dunk Festival Northern show alongside This Time Next Year, Out Of Sight, Every Avenue, Me Vs. Hero and Fireworks.
Recently heading out on a UK tour with Leeds based pop punk outfit Summerlin, FYF are going from strength to strength, with another UK tour planned for the winter of 2010. Catch these boys before they explode.
