Björk showed off her new album Biophilia live last night at the Manchester International Festival to great acclaim.

Several bespoke instruments were created for the shows surrounding the release of her new album - one of which being a hybrid gamelan celeste. UK cymbalsmith Matt Nolan replaced the original steel bars of a vintage orchestral celeste with bronze boners, with the instrument being rebuilt and MIDI'fied by Iceland's top organ-maker, Björgvin Tòmasson.

The above video is a two-minute montage of the making of the 'Gameleste'.

The lead single from Biophilia, entitled "Crystalline", is available now.
