Acoustic folk/rock singer guitarist Nick Harper embarks on a UK tour on February 26 as a prelude to his forthcoming album release.

Kicking off performing at Reading's Play, the tour continues around the country, including the famous Union Chapel in London.

During the rest of 2009, he will also be performing at festivals in the UK, playing dates in Europe and the U.S. before undertaking another charity trek with the Love Hope Strength Foundation.

After fund-raising and concerts in Nepal in 2007 and Peru in 2008, ‘Kilimanjaro Rocks’, September 27 – October 9, will again bring together musicians, supporters and cancer survivors in a bid for the world’s highest concert at Uhuru, the 19,341ft peak of Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. The trek and concerts will raise funds for bone marrow drives and the main cancer centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

Says Nick: “I can hang a song around my old guitar, but that’s about it really. In these days where everyone tries to do their bit to redistribute the wealth a little more fairly than politicians and business seem to want to do, in working with the Love Hope Strength Foundation I have found a place where I can use what I do to help others. The diversion from my normally self-centred ‘artistic’ view does me good too!”
