The Whigs And Dead Confederate Announce Co-Headline Tour

Athens, GA contemporaries Dead Confederate and The Whigs have announced a co-headline tour that will see them go head to head in seven different cities around the UK in late February 2011.
Emerging from the tight knit Athens music scene that brought us the likes of Drive By Truckers, Of Montreal and REM, The Whigs and Dead Confederate have shared the same stage in their hometown on several occasions as well as touring the US together in early 2009.

Currently on an arena tour with the Kings of Leon around the UK, The Whigs release their third album In The Dark on the 24th January. The Whigs release their next single 'So Lonely' on the 14th February.

Meanwhile Dead Confederate's sophomore album Sugar came out on Kartel in September of this year. Since then they have been relentlessly touring the US but this will be the first time since the release of Sugar that the band will have graced these shores. Dead Confederate will release the 2nd single from Sugar, 'Run From The Gun', on the 28th February.

One of my pet hates: a "UK" tour that doesn't get out of England.

The Whigs are well worth seeing too.
