X Factor Twins John & Edward Bounce Back Again!

So, what is happening in the world of music this week? The answer is loads, although you wouldn’t know it as most people seem to be only talking about X Factor twins John & Edward. So as the old adage goes ‘if you can’t beat them join them’. Thinking about it I wouldn’t advise anyone to follow that saying as you should stand up for what you believe in and “stick it to the man”, not as the saying suggests give in. Anyway, that’s beside the point, what I’m trying to say is I feel obligated to pass comment on John & Edward as people seem captivated by them at the moment. Let’s face it they can’t sing, can’t dance and are much of a muchness really. But I have to admit I do laugh my arse off watching them bounce around on –stage singing out of tune and doing back flips. And my absolute highlight was when they performed Britney Spears’ ‘Oops...I Did It Again’ It was like watching a cloned Napoleon Dynamite dancing around dressed head to toe in red PVC. And let’s not forget their profound wisdom, when asked what they thought of the media referring to them as Jedward they said something along the lines of...’well it’s like John & Edward put together’ – genius! Although, to be fair to them they have come back with renewed vigour week after week even though they have had alot of stick from the media, public and even the X Factor judges. Also, bear in mind they are only eighteen so it is testament to their character that they can take such harsh criticism on the chin.

So what happens if Jedward are ever in the bottom two against one of my favourite acts? Those being Geordie heart- throb Joe and Dagenham diva Stacey. Well my tune would change slightly, as while Jedward are fine for a bit of fun, they are simply not good enough to vocally to beat the likes of Stacey or Joe.

Also let’s briefly touch on Simon Cowell’s change of heart over the twins. This is the man who said he would leave the country if the twins won, yet this week said he would rather watch them perform again over Lucy. Why? Well cast your minds back to Mr Blobby and the Teletubbies, who was responsible for these two acts releasing singles? Yep, that’s right Mr Cowell. You see Simon Cowell is a businessman who works in an industry that sells music and it doesn’t matter if that music is good or bad as long as it sells. Cowell knew Mr Blobby was shit but he also knew it was a great cash cow that would make alot of money. I won’t have anyone dissin’ the Teletubbies though because they were boss! It’s the same with John & Edward, Simon only showed interest in them once he realized the public were behind the twins which meant he could potentially make alot of money from them. It’s as simple as that.

So, what’s on the website this week? Well fortunately this is the only X Factor related story so that should come as a relief to most. As always we do have all the latest news, reviews and hot new videos. We also have two brand new competitions, one lucky winner could be in with a chance of winning this year’s NME album and we also have a copy of Creed’s new album ‘Full Circle’. So if you want it to be you get entering! This week’s Glasswerk featured gigs are Chris Helme (ex-Seahorses), Dawn Landes, The Fall and the Ocean Reid Tour.
