At the end of 2009 Baddies returned to their hometown of Southend having travelled across Europe to Japan and Australia, and then back again. With an endless list of dates behind them, Reading, Glastonbury, Pukkelpop and Roskilde festivals (to name a few) played and their debut album campaign coming to an end, the band took their time to carefully construct album number two: Build.

Behind the scenes at the production helm of the record is a close friend of the band, producer Sean Genockey (Futureheads, Reuben, Manic Street Preachers, Starsailor). Build is an organic progression from Baddies first full length ‘Do The Job’, keeping hold of all the sonic elements that define the bands character whilst exploring new territories and developing their musical personality. Their direct and spikey post-punk has been sharpened with maturity and experience resulting in an overwhelming assault on the senses.

Baddies debut album ‘Do The Job’ was a success and most of it achieved off their own backs. It sold over 10,000 copies worldwide, with the band playing 32 major festivals the year of its release. That’s more festivals than any other band, anywhere in Europe, managed that year. They impressed radio as well and ended up doing live sessions for Huw Stephens at BBC Radio1 and John Kennedy at XFM.

The first single to be taken from ‘Build’ is ‘Bronto’, a song that impacts immediately with infectious and punchy vocal hook and hypnotizing synths. The track is being given away for nothing so follow the below links to get your first taste of the returning Baddies:
