Little Fish, consisting of one Julia Sophie, brings forward a four track demo so we can test the waters. And with Revolutions in her head it’s hard not to smile whilst listening.
Sophie doesn’t seem to be sure if she wants to be Beth Orton or KT Tunstall. She has a fairly strong voice, mellow moments of reflection but also a desire for harder rock sensibilities in her music.
Although some lyrics fall a bit flat ‘my lonely heart built for two’ there is no reason to suggest that Little Fish won’t make listeners happy. With some fine sound tuning she could certainly kick her own stamp into the genre she so much seems to adore.
