Glasswerk Presents: Under The Radar
Glasswerk Presents: Under The Radar @ Dry Bar, Manchester
Date: 20th July 2006
Support: Decoded, The 48ks, Daisy Goes Green

Decoded opened with a high energy number and their eccentric lead singer Wiggy, got the crowd in high spirits.

Glasswerk Presents ‘Under The Radar’ @ The Dry Bar on Fri 21st July 06, with appearances from the bands Decoded, The 48K’s & Daisy Goes Green

The band are a mixed bag, with a unique image and an eclectic mixture of sweet harmonies combined with elements of drum n' bass and 80’s influenced rock. Their performance of the song ‘Lowdown’ is a fusion of acoustic melodic harmonies from their second lead singer Kelly, and electro rock, whilst their second song ‘Overloaded’ is both strong and edgy. Decoded have defined a unique image of their own and this was a major factor in their winning crowd's approval.
With a strong & lively start to their set The 48K’s perform songs from their demo ‘Somewhere near the end’ such as the song ‘Rien Ne Va Plus’ which seemed to be fanbase favorite and will convert any skeptics of the band. What is very evident is that The 48K’s are a great live act – no gimmicks, no tricks, just strong vocals, a great stage presence & solid songs. Great hooks and notable vocals from their lead singer Martin Brady add to the overall performance.

The night’s headliner, Daisy Goes Green, launch into an attack of alternative indie rock with chunky guitar sounds. They rip through their set demanding attention and respect with well-structured songs and great lead vocals. The audience is treated to a set littered with songs, such as ‘Mine Anyway’ and the mellow ‘Summer Time’. Singer Rick Bevan works their crowd well, dripping in sweat and giving their audience an energetic performance. Their performance of ‘All your dreams are green now’ leaves everyone content, knowing they've witnessed a set that is not from your average Manchester band.
