Wild Beasts - Two Dancers
Released: 2nd August 2009
Label: Domino

A bizarre concoction of beats, guitar, keyboards and flamboyant vocal work, Wild Beats have got the bizarre goods and they have delivered a perplexing yet highly funky and enjoyable listen in this album.

Hard to place where this music sits, especially with so many elements going for it, 70’s vocalists, sheer groove to the guitar and beats, hints of new age mellow. It’s like you get a Barry White disco king and cross him via U2, Radiohead and then get Clannad to do some backing music. Any of that make sense? Not a lot of sense going on here either.

But smooth grooves it is, and worth checking out when you have a polite spare moment, they deserve it.
