Throw a rock nowadays and you’ll hit a synth group. Hitchin’s Flamboyant Bella found their fame on Myspace and offer a no-frills dance sound that falls at the more accessible end of an electro-revival craze that’s seen the pop stylings of Little Boots and La Roux pester the charts in recent months.
Flo Kirton’s ballsy vocals are captivating enough with their regional twang, and the hedonistic chorus has the instant catchiness the genre demands. It’s a saturated market though, and time will tell whether Flamboyant Bella are the next big thing or doomed to be among so many also-rans.
