Snowfight In The City Centre - No Light Left
Released: 3rd July 2006
Label: High Voltage Sounds

If ever there was a new band on the scene that was on the fringe of being chewed, swallowed, and spat back out by the pop-music industry, then Snowfight In The City Centre’ are ripe pickings.

It’s a shame then that they are in the firing line with their debut limited edition double-sided single.

First track ‘No Light Left’ conjures up chiming guitars and self-possessed lyrics, but hides too much in the shades of the Coldplays of this world. Flip side track ‘My Saving Grace’ is a slight improvement on its predecessor. With a piano led mainframe and a more buoyant feel, it shrugs off previous discredits. The question therefore remains in that can this Manchester six-piece have a corner to fight for and call their own in an increasingly competitive market.
