The Zutons
The Zutons @ Dalby Forest, Yorkshire
Date: 26th June 2008
Support: Guests

Since currently recording their new album in LA, the follow-up to the multi platinum selling albums Who Killed The Zutons? and Tired Of Hanging Around, announced their first UK tour in two years seven different forests. Lucky for us, Dalby forest were one of the lucky ones, and Emma went to find out what all the noise was about.....

With an on-site bar, the night was off to a good start. The sold out venue was packed from back to front ranging from little un's to old un's, drunks and sobers. Noah and the Whale made quite an entrance flowing some well known and new songs to the crowd, followed by Fionn Regan with his moving sweet acoustic blessings, yet danceable riffs.

The long awaited Zutons finally arrived, and many cheers were thrown to Zutons lady Abby Harding in particular once the saxaphone began to play. The forests trees amplified the simple excellence from the band, and all the favourites were played including 'Valerie' and 'Tired of hanging around'. The Zutons went down well with the locals as lead singer, Dave chanted 'Yorkshire, Yorkshire' to their beloved fans, causing much havoc in the crowed.

With dancing Yorkshiremen and North East folk, the night was a blast, with singing coming from every angle, showing how much of a following the Zutons really do have. Packing up to move along to Glastonbury, The Zutons ended their set as the forest air blew cold , and most of the drunken crowed beared their way back to their tents half a mile down the road, which believe me wasn't a pretty site, none-the less, a novelty for a mini fest in the forest. All in all, the entertainment and setting were spot on, and the music was absolutely brilliant, ten out of ten evening
