EMI have unveiled a gem in the shape of Love Is All. These people know how to make music. If a band from recent history has to be used as a major influence, then Arcade Fire aren’t a bad option. Indeed, any music that gives me a ‘Fire’-esqu tingle can’t be that bad. Sprinkle a bit of Springsteen and Ladyfuzz in there and you’re listening to their new single Nothing to Be Done. It’s big, it’s bold, it’s honky tonk, it’s anthemic, it’s 18 again, It’s The Band Who Fell to Earth next to David Bowie.
Too much new music leaves me empty and scornful these days, but Love is All cashes the cheques and you are going to love every glorious second of it. The tracks just keep going over and over in my head god damn it! Give me more god damn you!!!! How can I get more more???? Just a little fix man ….. anything… just to see me clear to their album… must sleep now… .tired… so…very… ..tired.
