Johnny Foreigner are that band that you want to love, you know, so indie it hurts, just with an image like Razorlight, and still on NME’s ever changing in-favour list. Reputation aside, for an up and coming band, this new single, Criminals, is not as in your face and catchy as perhaps you would have expected for the hype behind them.
It’s a lively piece, slightly more guitars than normal, making it sound a little untidy, but it’s that rawness that draws people to them and makes them slightly different. Well it’s got to be something that makes people think ‘I don’t know why I like them but I do’.
It is a good single, the lyrics are fun, almost romantic and the sound is that indie that makes you want to dance, or buy them an auto tune for Christmas, but nevertheless a sure shot at something successful.
