What’s the difference between John Parkes (Whole Sky Monitor/solo performer)and Peter Gabriel? This is no joke, the answer is that probably 99% of you have heard of the latter, but not the former.

This is the sheer conundrum that faces you when you are trying to figure out who is going to make a splash in the wistful singer/songwriter stakes? Both of the above possesses roughly the same amount of heart, stirring rhythm, tune crafting ability and warming vocals. Yet one is a household name and the other simply isn’t.

That said, there will be no prediction, as is getting customary these days at the end or beginning of reviews. About whether or not the love musing, crisp lifting voiced Wolverhampton based ex-Sonar lead man Dan Whitehouse, will be a John Parkes or a Peter Gabriel in terms of mainstream popularity?

This searching, acoustically woven sojourn, ‘Where Is The Love?’ is helped along by the comforting backing of Carina Round. It speaks of innocence in love and does show some heart and sincerity, without sounding forced.

This smoothly delving single certainly has enough to make you to want to investigate ‘The Box EP’, from which it is taken. Whitehouse comes across as a genuine artist who you can’t help, but want to see him succeed.
