It would seem that in an attempt to jettison some of the baggage of bubblegum pop, the artist formerly known as Baby Spice has done away with her surname. The accompanying press blurb confidently asserts that the single "is sure to change all preconceptions and allow Emma to demonstrate her matured writing and vocal ability" and to an extent they've got it right, I certainly wasn't expecting 'Baby Spice sings lounge core.' Nick Ingman's string arrangement adds a momentary touch of opulence which lasts as long as it takes the listener to realise that it's almost a direct lift of the melody from "Food Glorious Food." To be fair, the verse sections may just get away with their not-so-bold salute to John Barry, but the saccharine chorus is right up there with Ms Halliwell's "Lift Me Up" in terms of it's ability to induce dry wretching in anyone within earshot. Avoid it at all costs.
