There is something about Norwegian duo Royksopp that sets them apart from the majority of one-off dance projects topping the charts one week and disappearing the following one. It’s maybe that ‘house’ feel, it’s maybe because theirs are truly songs, with lyrics and a meaning, and maybe it’s also for the sheer melancholy on top of the beats.
Whatever it is, ‘Only This Moment’ (from second album ‘The Understanding’) is a love song in an electronic shell, capable of creating a very intense mood. With the aid of the suave vocals of Kate Havnevik and blessed by the usual duo’s production mastery, the track is the perfect introduction to the follow-up to acclaimed debut ‘Melody A.M.’
