Controversy has always followed the stones even today as Jagger and the boys set out on a world tour with tickets going on sale for a fair few bob. To co inside with the start of the tour the stones release ‘Streets of Love’. Sometimes you sit and wonder where bands get their inspiration to come up with such meaningful songs. This latest outing proves to be special, still in keeping with the modern age The Rolling Stones don’t falter and their timelessness is majestic. ‘Streets of love’ provides evoking tearfulness and sounds as if the stones are reflecting on their achievements. Jagger softly sings ‘I must admit I was awful bad’ but the powerful ballad is there to see. Fruitful ballads give a sense of togetherness where ‘walk the streets of love’ gives a sense of deep scented meaning and truthfulness behind the lyrics. Beautiful!
B Side ‘Rough Justice’ goes back to the Stones roots with rawky guitars, hands on hips Mick’s a prancing around the stage. ‘It’s rough justice but you know I’ll never break your heart’ punches you in the face. A bag of Americana guitars makes this a true rock out. Anthems are what The Stones are all about; here we have another. Quality B side.
Yet again The Stones come out and hit us with a couple of eclectic songs that fit nicely into the modern times. Softly speaking ‘Streets of Love’ is soothing and reflective with a Stones rebellion on ‘Rough Justice’. To see the stones is a mighty cost but at least you can get in on the act when you buy their single at a much reasonable fee!
