Girls Aloud was the outcome of a telly talent show in 2002. Five young girls, two highly valued producers (Pete Waterman, Louis Walsh), instant pop, catchy tunes and female powered lyrics. It seems like the ideal recipe for a successful popular girl band. In fact it doesn’t only seem, but it turned to be a remarkably successful band and far better than everyone expected to be.

Girls Aloud have now been together for three years and they have to their name the triple platinum selling ‘What Will Neighbours Say’, the platinum ‘Sound of the Underground’ and, for sure, the love of many teenagers across the land.

On the 5th December they released their third album ‘Chemistry’ and the single ‘Biology’ has already hit the top ten. Eleven new tracks for Girls Aloud and two UK bonus tracks No Regrets and Racy Lacey, make up this latest album. Dance/pop melodies and a party mood, make this album very inviting. Apart from the already successful track ‘Biology’, I think that the best moment of this album is the song ‘See the Day’ which shows a more mature side of the band.

Girls Aloud might give off the impression of being the ‘new’ Spice Girls, but at the same time they have given signs of being something musically developed with a slightly recognisable identity.
