You really have to admire solo artists when they place their own name in the albums title (well actually you don’t – but it’s nice to be nice).
Right onto the review – Despite an eerie Tina Turner reminiscent intro – this 19 track (that’s right!!!) album is just another journey into booty swinging, attitude and mind control – in the sense that something takes over and makes you want to find the nearest and largest bottle of sleeping pills.
For anyone who is a fan – well im sure you’ve also heard it all before and will like it just the same for it.
There are some mild diversions such as ‘I don’t Think So’ which is much more glam rock. Not a great song at all, but amusing to hear an R&B singer try out different zones. ‘Weekend’ also goes a little bit more electronic. Now if only she could drop the R & B beats it could well have sounded like something very different indeed.
But there is not enough to divert your attention away from the majority of the album sounding so much the same, and so mediocre.
