New York’s Five O Clock Heroes new single Skin Deep, taken from their debut Bend to the Breaks sounds like Ramones mixed with the Jam. However, it’s missing the hooks that made The Strokes so popular so it just sounds tired and very familiar.

They have been around for a few years now and there is nothing here to elevate them above the level of good support band. This is uninspiring rock by numbers which is done much better elsewhere. The songs chorus is pretty catchy and memorable for a few listens but you wouldn’t find me coming back to this too many times. I’d rather just listen to the Ramones, it maybe 30 years older but its much fresher than the Five O Clock Heroes.
