Robyn reckons you can’t handle her. But if this single is anything to go by it’s more a case of you can’t stand her.
The track is nicely arranged and will suit the market it’s intended for, but there lies the problem. It offers nothing new.
It’s an empty promise, wrapped up in recycled wrapping paper, and decorated with all the bells and whistles you’d expect to accompany a dance floor anthem.
I really liked the expressive use of the backing vocals, but the song is a nonsense. Handle what? The fact that forthright artists like Pink are being replicated and watered down?
It has all the hallmarks of a hit, so whatever I write here won’t make a bit of difference.
But it all boils down to one question: Are you a fashion victim?
If you are you’ll love this.
If you’re not - stick with something a little more closer to pushing the envelope than licking its edges.
