Combining the kind of chaotic pop beauty that has made the Go Team so popular. Songs that just about manage to hold themselves together to the point where they border the line of the completely absurd and the creative genius.
It‘s theatrical in a kind of Scissor Sisters esque way, but the absolute quality of the song means it is crying out to be taken far more seriously. Just when you think the song is going to completely implode on itself it recovers magnificently and throws you another glorious summery hook that Brian Wilson would be proud of. If Fleetwood Mac were around today they may sound a little like this, very few bands can be mentioned within the same sentence as such greats on their debut single, but the sheer adventurousness and aspirations to create something different that radiates from this band mean they can adhere to such comparisons with no problem at all.
If you’re getting tired of the same old repetitive indie guitar music and are looking for something a little different to dig your claws into you could do a lot worse than Hansom Pilot, who if they manage to produce an albums worth of material as special as this could be staking a claim to becoming the new ‘Blondie’.
