Buzz Cason and Mick Gayden penned this jazz classic in the sixties. It was first released by Robert Knight in 1967, was covered by Carl Carlton in 1974, by U2 in 1988, by Gloria Estefan in 1995 and by a whole host of others in between. Now it's Jamie Cullum's turn.
So is the song much different to before? Sure, each artist attches their own style to the performance but in essence it's the same song again. Yes, bits and pieces will have been tweaked and some lyrics slightly adjusted, but the foundations of the song remain untouched, thankfully.
If anyone has seen the new Bridget Jones film 'Bridget Jones: Edge Of Reason' (the missus dragged me along and I can tell you it's every bloke's nightmare) then you will not be surprised to learn that Cullum's version of Everlasting Love makes an appearance.
A pin-up singing a jazz classic in a chick flick, it's going to sell.
