Ten years is a long time to have seen a band live on stage. 10 years has seen Feeder go from their initial EP and album releases and rocket into stardom with many of the ups and downs that bands face. And here they are a 5 piece now (originally 3) on stage at the Astoria. You wouldn’t have thought a day has passed by. Front man Grant Nicholas barely seems to have aged at all, and is even sporting a very familiar hairdo from back in the day.

The great thing about this particular passage of time is that it sees that they haven’t lost the ability to play a live gig really, REALLY, well. Taka usually the mad mover on stage manages to keep his feet still for longer periods of time, but as always looks like he’s pouring heart and soul into his craft.

It would be a bit pointless to name the tracks that they played as all bases pretty much seem to be covered, and each one is done professionally, entertainingly and to a crowd approval. If anything was missing it was very early material. Descend in particular was missed off the set list which used to be a track they commonly would finish on with its drawn out closure. But that quibble aside Feeder remain a live act worth every penny and it is only the more laudable that the band take it on the road in extensive tours rather than a few paltry dates that others only manage. But then Feeder often manage to succeed where others have failed.
